Welcome speeches were held by the Croatian minister of science and education, Professor Blaženka Divjak, Ph.D., who had a role of emissary of Croatian Prime Minister Mr Andrej Plenković, Mr Zlatan Avar, deputy mayor of city of Varaždin, Professor Neven Vrček, Ph.D., dean of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics and Professor Vjeran Strahonja, CECIIS Programme Committee Chair.

Two world class experts and scientists held invited lectures. Topic of the first lecture was „On the Engineering of Software-Based Systems for the 21st Century“ and it was held by Professor Branislav (Bran) Selić, president and founder of Malina Software Corporation, a Canadian company that provides consulting services to corporate clients and government institutions worldwide. Professor Sokratis K. Katsikas from Center for Cyber and Information Security the Norwegian Information Security Lab, Norwegian University of Science and Technology held a presentation on security and privacy challenges in intelligent information systems.

Alongside paper presentations, there were several parallel events, such as eSchools Day, workshop on dana analysis, presentation of FOI international projects (DIGITRANS, CRISS) and panel discussion „Academy-Industry Cooperation: Applied Research in ICT“.
