Warm-up talks are the CECIIS special section where we talk about  formal topics in an informal setting! Location of the CECIIS Warm-up talks in Pub Medina Škrinja just a few minutes away from FOI1 building.

Warm-up talks will be held on 15th September 2026. from 19:00.

The only requirement to attend this pre-conference session is to be a registered CECIIS participant!

We will have five different topics from the CECIIS domain where our guests in a form of 1-on-1 interviews will talk about following:

• Past vs the future of scientific conferences - Full prof. Neven Vrček, Ph.D.
• Is Data Becoming the New Currency? - Assoc. Prof. Dijana Oreški, Ph. D.
• Student Mobility, Sustainability, and Future Challenges - Assoc. Prof. Katarina Pažur Aničić, Ph. D. & Izabela Oletić Tušek, univ. spec. pol.
• Are BIPs (Blended Intensive Programmes) New Ways of Learning? - Assoc. Prof. Martina Tomičić Furjan, Ph. D.
• Computer games in the era of AI - Full Prof. Markus Schatten, Ph.D.

Each topic will have a time slot of 10-15 minutes, and after each topic is finished, the audience will have an opportunity to give their contribution to the given question through Mentimeter.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for all participants to network and to talk further about the Warm-up talks and CECIIS topics!
