CECIIS 2023: A Dynamic Start and Engaging Discussions on AI, Quantum Computing, and More!

Participants also engaged in a panel discussion on the intriguing topic of "Science and AI," moderated by Professor Neven Vrček, Ph.D., the President of the Program Committee of the CECIIS 2023 conference and a professor at FOI. The panelists included Damir Bogdan (CEO of QuantumBasel, Switzerland), Prof. Blaženka Divjak, Ph.D. (University of Zagreb, FOI), Prof. Tomislav Matić, Ph.D. (Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Osijek, FERIT), and Prof. Enrique Mu, Ph.D. (Carlow University, USA).
Conference participants from all around the world had the opportunity to meet international project teams and learn about the results of their research projects within the "Project Oasis." They also took part in an international workshop on the increasingly popular short intensive mobility programs titled "Mastering Blended Intensive Programs – insights and trends!" led by Associate Professor Martina Tomičić Furjan, Ph.D. Additionally, a professional workshop on responding to information security incidents involving a ransomware attack was conducted by Prof. Đorđe Krivokapić, Andrea Nikolić, and Ivona Živković. The conference also featured the presentation of the international research infrastructure consortium, Bloxberg, based on blockchain technology.
13th CECIIS Student International Section - from Peru, through the USA to Europe
The international CECIIS conference once again, within the 13th edition of the Student Online Section, gathered a large number of students from various countries. Within 20 research presentations, 35 students, young researchers from around the world, came together. We have research results from students from Peru, some students come to us from Florida in the United States, as well as from Slovakia, Latvia, Albania, Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and of course, from Croatia. The leaders of the Student Section of CECIIS are Prof. Violeta Vidaček Hainš, Ph.D., from FOI, and Prof. Victoria Appatova, Ph.D., from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, USA.
The topics of student research are related to the application of information and communication technology in various fields - from psychology and medicine to applications in economic or computer sciences. Students will discuss conceptual solutions for smart cities, challenges of contemporary virtual communication, concrete applications of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and many other current topics.
