Internationalization in HEIs ensures experience and knowledge exchange between staff and students but is also enabling them to gain or improve communication, language, and inter-cultural skills. It is a unique opportunity for all to evolve, both personally and professionally. Blended intensive programs (BIPs), as one of the most popular international initiatives today, give a perfect opportunity to get started with acting internationally and can foster new mobilities and projects.
This workshop will:
- give insight into what it takes to create and implement a successful BIP, and help all involved, both lecturers and learners, to explore motivation of staff to be included in developing and performing BIPs,
- provide a platform for discussion on challenges related to BIPs, like: how to choose partners, how to define an emerging and interesting topic, how to address sustainability, “green” matters, inclusivity, and diversity in BIPs etc.
Selected lecturers from international partnering institutions (University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics, Croatia; University of Lodz, Poland; Koc University, Turkey; Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Belgium) will use the Design Thinking approach, “spiced up” with gamification and teamwork, to establish a collaborative environment and to enable learners to learn from both, lecturers and each other.
The workshop is developed under the GIAN4MI collaborative initiative, within the UNIC4ER project, co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.
