DAY 1: CECIIS 2024 opens with a focus on Cyber-Physical and Embedded Systems
The event started with a welcome session, followed by an engaging keynote presentation by Prof. Srđan Čapkun, Ph.D., from the Zurich Information Security and Privacy Center (ZISC), who discussed "Physical-Layer Attacks and Their Impact on Wireless Networks", shedding light on critical security issues in modern technology.
The morning continued with a panel titled "It’s Time for Digital Growth," chaired by Prof. Neven Vrček, Ph.D., and featuring notable experts such as Prof. Srđan Čapkun, Ph.D., Prof. Patrizia Poščić, Ph.D., Željka Idžan and Prof. Slavko Vidović, Ph.D. The panel focused on the digital transformation's impact on industries and economies, highlighting both opportunities and challenges.
Throughout the day, several parallel sessions took place, including presentations on Learning Analytics, AI in Education, Computer Games, Cyber-Physical Systems, and Intelligent Energy. Poster presentations and the 14th Students’ Poster and Presentation Section also featured prominently, allowing young researchers to showcase their work to an international audience. An invited lecture was given by Prof. Machdel Matthee, Ph.D. from University of Pretoria.
The day's activities were complemented by project pitches, networking opportunities and a lively welcome cocktail reception in the evening. The conference continues over the next two days, featuring a range of scientific sessions, workshops and discussions.
